About Brown Mackie College
Brown Mackie College was founded more than 100 years ago in 1892 as the Kansas Wesleyan School of Business. In the late 1930s, it was purchased by Perry E. Brown and A.B. Mackie who renamed it the Brown Mackie School of Business.
By 2003, the entire group was acquired by Education Management Corporation and given the name Brown Mackie College. There are now 19 locations found in 9 different states, and the focus has spread out from business to include computers, education, legal, medical, and more. The school has a one-class-a-month format that makes it unique.
Health Care Administration
Students interested in joining the medical field have a number of options when studying at Brown Mackie College, and Health Care Administration is just one of them.
Pursuing an Associate’s Degree in this discipline will ensure that graduates have studied the best methods for supporting a variety of health care systems such as clinics, hospitals, public health centers, and insurance agencies. The program includes hands-on training.
Medical Assisting

The Akron campus of Brown Mackie College has been accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools, and is thereby allowed to award Associate’s Degrees and diplomas. ACICS is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. The school is also considered to be a branch of Brown Mackie College-Cincinnati, Ohio.
