MedVance Institute was originally founded in 1970 under the name Cumberland School of Medical Technology. Medical Assistant - Diploma
Providing hands-on care to patients, medical assistants work closely with physicians and other practitioners, performing a wide range of office and clinical duties. In addition to hands-on training, graduates of the Medical Assisting program at MedVance Institute are eligible to take the Medical Assistant Certification exam.

Baton Rouge is located on Istrouma Bluff, the first bluff on the Mississippi north of the Delta region. The name literally means “Red Stick,” and is derived from the Native Americans who originally inhabited the bluff; when the French first explored the area they found long red poles with bear heads and fish on them.
