Health care workers seeking even more fulfillment than traditional work settings provide, should think big – globally big.

Skilled workers in all areas of health care are in high demand, especially radiology and medical imaging.

Health care professionals who are consistently in demand at urgent care centers and emergency rooms include phlebotomists, medical imaging and radiology technicians, physician assistants and many more of the jobs covered on this site.

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts employment in this field to grow 27% by 2016. This is one of the highest growth rates predicted among all health care professions (see also my recent blog comparing growth rates in other careers). The recently reported average income for PAs in 2008 was $89,897 (AAPA).
