About National American University
NAU headquarters opened in South Dakota in 1941 as the National School of Business. The purpose was to provide business training with a focus on secretarial and accounting work. During the post-war years, the curriculum adapted to reflect new technological fields and spread out over the United States and in select international locations. The inclusion of online educational options occurred in 1996.

Offered as a Diploma or Associate's Degree program, the Therapeutic Massage curriculum at NAU will prepare graduates to work as a self-employed massage therapist, or with several associates. Graduates will be equipped with the skills needed in order to work with clients of all age groups.
A combination of class work and hands-on instruction will guide students through topics including the creating of a self-care strategy, business plan formulation, massage and bodywork techniques for therapeutic benefit, and designing a bodywork/massage session.
Medical Administrative Assistant (Associate's Degree)
Preparing students for entry-level positions in the administrative end of health care settings, the Medical Administrative Assistant curriculum at NAU is an Associate's Degree program.
Graduates of this program will be equipped with the skills required in order to set appointment times, complete medical transcriptions and records management, greet patients, and other medical office procedures.
Pharmacy Technician (Associate's Degree)
Preparing students to entire the exciting world of health care, the Pharmacy Technician program at NAU is an Associate's Degree course of study. Coursework in this program will prepare students in the areas of record keeping, providing medication and healthcare products to patients, and communicating with the pharmacist and patients.
In addition to these skills, graduates will be equipped with a knowledge of the use and potential side effects of medications, be able to precisely measure ingredients for IV applications, and be proficient in basic technology and billing/purchasing skills.

Bloomington is a major suburb in the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area. It is the fifth largest city in Minnesota located just 10 miles from downtown Minneapolis.
Bloomington was home for the Minnesota Vikings of the NFL and the Minnesota Twins of MLB for more than 20 years. But in 1982 both teams were moved to the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome in downtown Minneapolis.
As a result, the old stadium site was purchased by local authorities and plans were developed for the Mall of America. The mall opened in 1992 and is the largest indoor mall in the U.S. The mall employs 13,000 people. In 2006 the Water Park of America was opened and plans are in place for Phase II of the Mall of America.
The city of Bloomington has over 90,000 residents. The hospitality industry provides the most jobs in the area employing over 20,000. Other employers include Thermo King, the Toro Company, Seagate Technology and ADC Telecommunications.
