As a name, Sanford-Brown College has been in existence for over 140 years. Sanford-Brown College and other schools under the Sanford-Brown name are vocational training centers that provide basic training in a number of cutting edge fields.

Cleveland (Middleburg Heights), OH Health Care StudentThe school's mission is to “offer focused, quality, short-term, non-degree career-oriented programs.” The school has always been focused on practical training offered in a fast format to enable students to get out the door and into their careers. Today, the focus of the training is centered on technology, business, and health care.

In its current form, Sanford-Brown is a subsidiary of the Career Education Corporation network, a company with over 80 for-profit postsecondary educational facilities throughout the United States.

Medical Assistant (Diploma)

The Medical Assistant program provides students with the skills they need to work alongside other medical professionals in a clinic or office capacity.

Training includes clinical care as well as administrative tasks. Graduates are not eligible to take the Certified Medical Assistant exams until further experience and/or education occurs. However, students may be eligible to take the Registered Medical Assistant exam.

Diagnostic Medical Sonography (Diploma)

Through a series of lecture, lab, and externship coursework, the Diagnostic Medical Sonographer program will prepare students to seek entry-level employment as diagnostic medical sonographers. In addition to learning how to perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations, students of this course of study will learn about vascular ultrasound, anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology.

Medical Billing & Coding (Diploma)

The Medical Billing and Coding program prepares students to work in the insurance and records departments of a variety of health care establishments. The course includes an externship of practical work at an outside facility.

Cleveland Health Care StudentGraduates are eligible to take the Certified Coding Associate and Certified Professional Coder-Apprentice exams; however the official Certified Professional Coder exam and other relevant certifications require more experience and/or education.

Advanced Massage Therapy (Diploma)

The Massage Therapy program offers training in the practical and theoretical sides of the field. It includes a hands-on, unpaid externship with an area clinic or facility. Graduates of this program are eligible to take the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork exam.

Cardiovascular Technology (Diploma)

A combination of lecture, imaging labs, and clinical coursework, the Cardiovascular Technology curriculum is a Diploma program.

Through coursework that includes EKG, holter monitoring, echocardiography, cardiovascular science, and telemetry, graduates of this program are prepared to seek entry-level employment as a cardiovascular technologist.

Pharmacy Technology (Diploma)

A diploma program, the Pharmacy Technology curriculum at SBC prepares graduates to seek entry-level employment as a pharmacy technician. In addition to medication prep, students of the Pharmacy Technology program will study inventory and billing, customer service, and pharmacy computing. Coursework is a combination of lecture, lab, and externship components.
