About Sanford-Brown College
As a name, Sanford-Brown College has been in existence for over 140 years. Sanford-Brown College and other schools under the Sanford-Brown name are vocational training centers that provide basic training in a number of cutting edge fields.
The school's mission is to “offer focused, quality, short-term, non-degree career-oriented programs.” The school has always been focused on practical training offered in a fast format to enable students to get out the door and into their careers. Today, the focus of the training is centered on technology, business, and health care.

Medical Assistant (Specialized Associate Degree & Diploma)
The Medical Assistant program provides students with the skills they need to work alongside other medical professionals in a clinic or office capacity. Training includes clinical care as well as administrative tasks.
Graduates are not eligible to take the Certified Medical Assistant exams until further experience and/or education occurs. However, students may be eligible to take the Registered Medical Assistant exam.
Medical Billing & Coding (Specialized Associate Degree & Diploma)
The Medical Billing and Coding program prepares students to work in the insurance and records departments of a variety of health care establishments. The course includes an externship of practical work at an outside facility.
Graduates are eligible to take the Certified Coding Associate and Certified Professional Coder-Apprentice exams; however the official Certified Professional Coder exam and other relevant certifications require more experience and/or education.
Emergency Medical Services (Specialized Associate Degree & Diploma)
Available as Diploma or Specialized Associate's Degree program, the Emergency Medical Services program at Sanford-Brown College (SBC) is designed to prepare students to seek entry level employment as a paramedic or EMT.
In addition to learning how to transport sick and injured patients, students of this program will receive instruction on the methods of patient assessment, trauma management, and other medical emergency situations. Consisting of coursework and an externship, graduates of this program are eligible to take the certification exams as offered by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT).
Respiratory Therapy (Specialized Associate's Degree)
A Specialized Associate's Degree program, the Respiratory Therapy curriculum at SBC is designed to equip graduates with the skills they need in order to seek entry-level employment as a respiratory therapist.
Coursework includes lecture and lab components, and focuses on the training needed in order to become a respiratory therapist in a variety of health care settings.
Graduates are eligible to take the Certified Respiratory Therapy (CRT) and Registered Respiratory Therapy (RRT) exams offered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC),
Radiography (Specialized Associate's Degree)
Including coursework in the areas of radiologic physics, image production and radiation protection, the Radiology curriculum and Sanford-Brown College is a Specialized Associate's Degree program.
In addition to being eligible to apply for American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) certification, graduates of this program are prepared to seek entry-level employment as radiographers.
Veterinary Technician (Specialized Associate's Degree)
The Veterinary Technician curriculum at SBC is a Specialized Associate's Degree program. In addition to learning how to provide professional and competent care for animals, students of this program will participate in lecture and clinical instruction. Graduates of this program are eligible to take the Veterinary Technical National Examination (VTNE), and the State Board Examination.
Diagnostic Medical Sonography (Specialized Associate's Degree)
Through a series of lecture, lab, and externship coursework, the Diagnostic Medical Sonographer program will prepare students to seek entry-level employment as diagnostic medical sonographers. In addition to learning how to perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations, students of this course of study will learn about vascular ultrasound, anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology.
