About Beckfield College
Beckfield College is a school where people go to find a new beginning. This is due in part to the fact that high school transcripts are not the main factor in determining if a student is accepted. Instead, they prefer to look at a students potential.
The school is able to confer various degrees, including four-year Bachelor’s degrees. In order to be as convenient as possible to a wide range of students, the school offers day and evening classes. As a student approaches graduation, he or she works with staff to help identify and win jobs in the medical field.
Medical Assistant - Associate of Applied Science or Diploma
For those interested in pursuing a career as a Medical Assistant, Beckfield College has two options: an Associate’s degree or a diploma. Both programs teach students both the administrative and the clinical sides of the job.
This might include learning specific industry-related software, as well as training on how to take patients’ vital signs and perform simple medical procedures. Classes range from Anatomy and Physiology to Principles of Sociology and cover topics as far reaching as Word Processing, Legal and Ethical Aspects of Health Information, Pharmacology, and Principles of Psychology. Medical Assistants are truly knowledgeable professionals.
Health Information Technology - Associate of Applied Science
Beckfield College also offers a Health Information Technology program. This Associate of Applied Science degree also requires students to study a variety of subjects, including medical coding, terminology, and professionalism. These specialists must also have good background knowledge of the treatment of diseases, as well as different types of care and procedures. Graduates can look forward to jobs in doctors’ offices, clinics, hospitals, and insurance companies.
Faculty
The staff and faculty at Beckfield College work to ensure that students have all of the tools they need to succeed upon graduation. The instructors bring their own life experiences into the classroom in order to infuse the students’ education with realistic expectations. While the faculty strives to prepare students for the jobs they will be taking, the staff helps place them into those jobs. The whole system works together to benefit the Beckfield College graduate.
Accreditation
Beckfield College recognizes the importance of being accredited by a recognized accrediting agency. This type of acknowledgement and acceptance works to validate a school’s quality of education as well as to hold it accountable for its standards. Beckfield College has been accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools to award both Bachelor’s and Associate’s degrees. The school has also been licensed by the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education.
Financial Aid
Because Beckfield College has earned the appropriate accreditations, it is qualified to offer Federal assistance for students who wish to attend. Those who are eligible may find that they qualify for scholarships, grants, and/or loans to help finance their college educations. There may be additional scholarships available, so prospective students are encouraged to work with their guidance counselors or to do personal research to see what opportunities might be open to them.
Going to School in Florence, KY
Beckfield College is located at nearly the northernmost point of Kentucky, in the city of Florence. Florence itself is home to approximately 25,000 people and one infamous water tower. Originally painted to say “Florence Mall,” zoning restrictions on advertisement caused the city to change the M to a Y until the mall actually opened. Once the time came, however, the townspeople chose to keep the friendly Southern greeting of “Florence Y’All.”
