About Heald College

Heald College offers a variety of programs for those who want to get involved in the health care field. They offer both Associate’s Degrees and diplomas in a number of fields. The school was founded in San Francisco in 1863, and the Fresno campus came in 1891.

Medical Assisting (Associate's Degree or Diploma)

Faculty

The faculty at Heald College are ready and willing to help students reach their full potential in the health care field. The Fresno campus boasts about a twenty-four-to-one ratio of students to instructors, with approximately 800 students and 40 faculty members. Instructors have experience in their fields and are able to bring that back to infuse their classes with authenticity.

Facilities

The Fresno campus of Heald College is a 38,000 square-foot-facility in the heart of the city. The campus also boasts free parking for students. The school is home to a 1,800 square-foot dental lab that is completely modern and allows for real-world, hands-on experience. There is a conference center with wireless capability and a Learning Resource Center that includes a library and computer lab.

Accreditation

Just as students are expected to earn their credentials, so too has Heald College. The school is accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. This accrediting organization is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation, as well as the U.S. Department of Education.

Financial Aid

Heald College is able to offer financial aid to qualified students through grants, loans, and work study programs. These include federal grants, like Pell and FSEOG, state Cal grants, Stafford and PLUS loans, and even merit scholarships.
