During the post-war years, the curriculum adapted to reflect new technological fields and spread out over the United States and in select international locations. The inclusion of online educational options occurred in 1996.
The school prides itself on creating not only qualified applicants for the current workforce, but for fostering a life-long commitment to learning, as well. Many of the school's programs are offered both on campus and online. Degree programs range from diplomas and certifications to full Bachelor's Degrees and graduate-level work.
The Independence campus of NAU offers a number of health-related training options. At the Bachelor's level, students can opt for the Health Care Management degree.
The Associate degree programs are designed to offer entry-level training in their respective fields. Training ranges from administrative and clinical duties to bill collections and staffing, depending on the specific program chosen by the student.
Health Care Management (Bachelor Degree Completion)
The Bachelor of Science degree in Health Care Management is offered for those seeking leadership positions in the health care field, including issues related to policy, finances, technology, and ethics. Students can choose the straight four-year program or a degree program that serves as a continuation of the school's Associate degrees in related fields.
Medical Assisting (Associate's Degree)
The Medical Assisting curriculum at NAU is an Associate's Degree program. Through the combination of lab and lecture sessions, graduates of this program will be well prepared to seek entry-level employment in a physician's office or outpatient health care facility.
Throughout the program, students will learn how to prepare patients for examination, perform laboratory testing, sterilize instruments and other medical equipment, take vital signs, and assist the physician during examination procedures.
