About Concorde Career Institute

Concorde Career Institute offers workforce training programs in a number of medical-based career fields. Concorde is currently located in over 12 cities. Originally based out of Delaware when it began in 1988, the school's main office is now located in Kansas. All degree programs are focused on the health care field; additional courses and locations are added as demand rises.

Jacksonville, FL Health Care StudentThe school's mission is “to open windows of opportunity for students, graduates, employees, and the health care community.” To this end, all training is focused on finding entry-level employment. It prides itself on having all programs designed to finish quickly and with as much hands-on, practical learning as possible.

There are a total of seven health-related specialties available through Concorde: Dental Assistant, Insurance Coding and Billing Specialist, Medical Assistant, Patient Care Technician, Practical Nursing, Respiratory Therapy (Associate of Science degree), and Surgical Technologist.

With the exception of the AS Respiratory Therapy option, each program comes with a Concorde Career Institute Diploma.

Dental Assistant & Medical Assistant

All programs offer training in both the relevant clinical and administrative sides of the chosen field. Dental Assistants and Medical Assistants are trained to work hand-in-hand with related professionals, preparing patients and processing paperwork.

These programs are offered in a 30-week capacity designed to get you out the door and into your career. They are also complemented by required externships, which offer six weeks of additional, on-the-job training.

Insurance Billing & Coding

Insurance Coding and Billing Specialists can expect to handle the financial and paperwork side of the office. A 30-week program, the Insurance Billing & Coding curriculum is fast-paced and career oriented. Graduates of the ICBS program are qualified to take the Certified Professional Coder exam.

Patient Care Technician

Medical Assistant Students - Jacksonville, FLPatient Care Technicians can expect to work more closely with patients, including doing blood work. This program is 24 weeks long with a four-week clinical in place of the externship. Graduates of this program are qualified to take the Florida Certified Nursing Assistant exam.

Surgical Technologist & Respiratory Therapy

Surgical Technologists are trained to work with doctors in the operating room. The course is 48 weeks long, including 500 clinical hours. The AS in Respiratory Therapy lasts for a total of 70 weeks (including 900 clinical hours), and qualifies graduates to work in a variety of cardiopulmonary jobs. Graduates are qualified to take the appropriate accrediting exams for all three fields.

Practical Nursing

At Concorde, you will gain Practical nursing skills in classroom, laboratory and clinical settings. By the time you graduate, you will be well prepared for employment as a Practical Nurse. The Practical Nursing program qualifies students to work as nurses in hospitals, offices, and nursing homes.

It is a one-year program that includes various on-site clinicals. After graduation, Concorde continues to assist you in your career development by helping you develop a resume, coaching you for interviews and providing career-long placement services.

The school's facilities are likewise equipped; state-of-the art laboratories and classrooms are meant to simulate the real-world working experience as much as possible.

Accreditation

Concorde Career Institute - Jacksonville is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools & Colleges of Technology (ACCSCT). The school has similar accreditation for the Surgical Technologist program, including recognition from the Accreditation Review Committee on Education in Surgical Technology.

Financial Aid

The school offers financial aid assistance through its financial aid office. Financial aid offered through federal and state funding sources (including grants and loans) are accepted, as are most forms of private scholarships. It is strongly recommended that students talk with the financial aid office to determine the best course of funding action.
