Florida Career College is a subsidiary of Education Training Corporation, another Florida-based company. As an educational institution, the Florida Career Colleges were opened in 1982 under the name of Florida Programming and Educational Center, Inc.

Medical Office Administrator - Associate's Degree

An Associate's Degree program, the Medical Office Administrator curriculum at Florida Career College - Jacksonville is designed to give students a solid foundation in the areas of Medical Billing and Coding and Medical Assisting. Students will learn about anatomy, terminology, pharmacology, clinical medical assisting, human diseases, and other medical office procedures. In addition, students of the AS in Medical Office Administration program will learn how to schedule patients, and complete other front office procedures, including word processing, handling patient accounts, and working with patient records.

Medical Coding and Billing Specialist - Diploma

Learning how to translate medical documentation into codes, the Medical Coding and Billing Specialist Diploma from Concorde Career Institute also includes training in human diseases, pharmacology, medical terminology, billing, coding, and anatomy. Students will learn how to assign and sequence procedural and diagnostic codes, and gain hands-on training using universal coding systems.

on completion, the graduate will possess a working knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, human diseases, pharmacology, and basic medical coding and billing skills. The program includes courses in medical documentation, translating this into numerical codes, and assigning and sequencing diagnostic and procedural codes using universally recognized coding systems.

Medical Assistant Technician - Diploma

Learning the basics of medical office procedures, the Medical Assistant Technician Diploma also includes training in anatomy, medical terminology, front office procedures, pharmacology, and human diseases. Students will also learn about X-ray procedures, and other basic medical lab skills. A comprehensive training program, the Medical Assistant Technician Diploma from Concorde Career Institute also includes training in the scheduling and processing of patients, in addition to coursework in word processing. Students will have hands-on training throughout, including the taking of vital signs and medical histories.
