About Keiser University
Keiser University is a private school with campuses across Florida state. The school’s focus is on career education with an emphasis on personalized attention.
For this reason, classes are kept deliberately small to allow for more interaction between students and instructors. They strive to help each student meet his or her personal educational needs. This extends to offering flexible schedules and the option to take many courses online.
Health Service Administration
Keiser University offers a Bachelor’s degree for those considering the health care field. The Health Services Administration program (an Associate’s is also available) teaches students the skills needed to work in the administrative end of health care. Areas of study include coding and billing, as well as legal issues.
Medical Assistant
While working with specialized high-tech equipment is fun, some career choices allow students to use a wider range of technology. Medical Assistants are trained to use a whole host of different machines.

Nursing

Keiser’s Associate Degree nursing program gives the student clinically focused education that prepares him or her to communicate effectively in written and spoken form, utilize critical thinking for problem solving, collaborate with other health care team members and with patients, and practice the nursing process utilizing skills of observation, assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention and evaluation.
Associate Degree nursing graduates can take the NCLEX exam and be licensed as Registered Nurses, and are qualified for entry level nursing positions.
Radiologic Technology
Equipping students with the knowledge and skills needed to accurately and professionally perform diagnostic imaging services, graduates of the Radiologic Technology program will be prepared to seek entry level employment in this exciting and rewarding field.
Students of this program will learn how to use critical thinking and problem solving, and develop vital communication skills. In addition, students will learn medical terminology, radiographic procedures, radiation protection, and equipment operation techniques.
Nuclear Medicine Technology
Instructing students with the skills needed in order to seek entry-level employment in this exciting field, the Nuclear Medicine Technology program develops a students ability to perform entry-level nuclear medicine procedures.
Instruction includes how to attend to patients, perform dose calculations, and the use of radioactive material in order to diagnose, treat, and visualize pathology. In addition, students will learn about radiopharmaceuticals, in-vivo and in-vitro diagnostic studies, and radiation safety.
Occupational Therapy Assistant
For a more literal “hands-on” career, students can pursue an Associate’s degree to become an Occupational Therapy Assistant. Graduates of this program go on to work with licensed Therapists to bring comfort and healing to patients suffering from physical ailments that limit their daily lives. Again, this is a position that allows graduates to work directly with patients to make a difference in their lives.
Faculty & Facilities
Because Keiser University focuses so heavily on individualized attention, the faculty members must be onboard with the agenda. The student-to-instructor ratio is intentionally low to allow for more one-on-one time. Students also attend only one class at a time for a month each, so they get the opportunity to really know their instructors.
In order to best prepare students to step into the health care world, Keiser University offers education in modern, up-to-date facilities. Classroom instruction includes the use of equipment that will typically be found out in the workplace. Unlike many “career schools,” Keiser University actually has student housing on its Kendall campus. The school is also a part of five different regional library cooperatives, which means that students have access to literally millions of library resources.
Accreditation
Keiser University has earned its accreditation from numerous organizations. For example, it is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. The Medical Assisting Program has additionally been accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools.
Likewise, the Medical Laboratory Technician program has been accredited by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences. Financial Aid

If you are a sports fan living in Kendall, you are only minutes away from the Florida marlins, Miami Dolphins, Miami Heat and Florida Panthers plus numerous college programs.
You'll find plenty of good restaurants and shops and Kendall is the home to the Miami Chamber Symphony. It also features the Falls Shopping Center Mall with top stores, restaurants and movie theaters. On Thursdays at the mall, you'll find live acts performing on their central stage.
