About Rasmussen College
Rasmussen College started as a Practical Business School in 1900 in Minnesota. Its intent was to provide secretarial and accounting courses for those looking to begin professional careers. By 1950, the school had already gained a reputation for business training; over the next decade, the school expanded to meet the demands of the market for technically-trained men and women and built new colleges in other locations.
By 1986, Rasmussen College was granting AAS degrees, and the business school began to incorporate aspects of the health care field. The school now offers over 40 programs all over the United States and online.
Health Care Management
The BS in Healthcare Management is offered both on the Florida campus and online. It trains graduates to work in the management and administrative side of the health care field, including hospitals, care facilities, offices, and government. Classes include medical ethics, regulation and laws, management, and physiology.
Medical Coding
The Medical Coding option comes only with a diploma from Rasmussen College. Classes are taught in compliance with the national coding and charting standards (ICD-9-CM), so that students are well-equipped to secure post-graduation employment. Because there is no degree associated with the course, it is meant to serve as a supplement for existing professionals or those in other degree programs.
Medical Assisting
Providing Physicians with professional assistance and effectively communicating with patients, the Medical Assistant is a vital part of any medical team.
At Rasmussen College, students in this program will study pathology, anatomy, physiology, medical law and ethics, medical theories and techniques, and medical office terminology and procedures.
Medical Office Management
With cutting-edge training provided by experienced faculty, the Medical Office Management program at Rasmussen College provides comprehensive training in this exciting field.
Instruction in this program includes customer service, pathology, medical transcription, medical office procedures, physiology, medical terminology, and medical law and ethics.
Pharmacy Technician
Acting as the Pharmacist's "right-hand", graduates of the Pharmacy Technician program at Rasmussen will be prepared to seek entry-level employment at a pharmacy.
In addition to anatomy and physiology, students of this program will learn about pharmacology, medical terminology, pharmacy math and dosages and the legal and ethical issues involving the field. In addition, students will receive instruction on pharmacy and insurance billing software.

Accreditation
Rasmussen College is accredited by the Regional Accreditation by the Higher Learning Commission and the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. The parent school is also licensed by the Minnesota Higher Education Services Office and the State of Wisconsin Educational Approval Board; this Ft. Myers location is licensed by the Florida Department of Education.
Financial Aid
Each campus of Rasmussen College offers financial planning assistance through their financial aid offices. They will help with filling out required FAFSA forms, finding scholarship opportunities, and learning more about grants and loans.
They also offer assistance finding Work-Study and part-time jobs to help pay for school. As with most for-profit schools of this size, payment plans and tuition assistance may be available; students are encouraged to contact the financial aid office for more information.

Holiday, Florida, got its name when bank officials from the First Federal Savings and Loans Association of Tarpon Springs were trying to find a name for their new branch. They settled on Holiday, because of the proximity to Holiday Drive, and the name spread.
Holiday is a city of over 22,000 residents. Holiday is bordered by Tarpon Springs and the Gulf of Mexico, along Florida’s “Nature Coast.” The small city has a lot of opportunities for culture. There are museums, historic sites, and parks to offer residents and visitors recreational and educational experiences.
There are four artificial reefs, one of which is made from surplus army tanks. Holiday is in Pasco County, which has a per capita income of $23,379, which was 32nd in the state. Holiday’s close proximity to larger cities combined with its lower cost of living makes this an interesting place to study, as well as live.
