About Kaplan Career Institute
The Pittsburgh campus of Kaplan Career Institute was first opened in 1963 as the Institute of Computer Management (ICM) School of Business. In more recent years, the school has expanded to include computer technology and other cutting-edge fields. The most recent change of hands occurred when the school became part of the Kaplan Higher Education Corporation, a New York-based corporation that owns and operates hundreds of schools and testing certification programs.
The school's primary focus is to provide “affordable, career-focused education.” To this end, they employ faculty members with proven experience in the field, flexible class times, and accelerated programs – some of which can be completed in as little as six months.

Medical Assistant (Diploma)

In addition to training in adapting environments for the handicapped, students will learn how to administer and interpret the results of various muscle/range of motion tests, help clients improve motor functions and reasoning abilities, and design and apply orthotic and prosthetic devices.
Facilities
The Pittsburgh campus is a single building that provides computer labs, online library services, a campus library, and a campus bookstore to all students. The location's administrative offices are also contained in the building. The clinical studies that comprise part of the Medical Assisting program allow access to up-to-date laboratories complete with exam tables, EKG machines, and centrifuges. The overall intent is to create an environment that simulates the real working world.
Faculty
