Medical Assistant (Associate of Science)

Massage Therapy (Diploma)

A Diploma course of study, the Massage Therapy program at Hesser College prepares graduates to seek entry-level employment as a massage therapist. Training in this program is comprehensive and hands-on, combining clinical and classroom experiences.

Coursework in this curriculum includes the history of massage therapy, demonstration of ROM, organ structure/function, body and table mechanics, sports massage, and basic health and hygiene procedures. In addition, students will learn about deep tissue massage, water as a therapeutic tool, neurovascular massage, and relevant business procedures/protocol.

Rich in history, the first written account of the areas in and around Portsmouth, NH date back to 1603 when the area was explored by Martin Pring. Since that time, the city of Nashua has bloomed into a metropolis of over 20,000 residents.

While Paul Revere once rode through the streets of Portsmouth to warn residents that the British were on the way, today these same streets are home to numerous historic homes and sites. One of the most famous areas in Portsmouth is Strawbery Banke, which was one of Portsmouth's earliest settlements.

Other points of interest in Portsmouth include the USS Albacore Museum & Park, The Music Hall, and the Portsmouth Harbor Lighthouse. In addition to these sites, the nearby Portsmouth Naval Shipyard was the location where the 1905 Treaty of Portsmouth was signed, which ended the Russo-Japanese war.
