About Colorado Technical University
Colorado Technical University first opened its doors in 1965 in, of course, Colorado. From its onset, students were meant to be prepared for careers in the cutting-edge of technology and labor needs. Surgical Technology - Associate of Science
A hands-on training program, the Surgical Technology Program is available in and Associate of Science curriculum at CTU - Pueblo. Designed to give students the skills needed in order to become entry-level surgical technologists, this curriculum focuses on the theory and general education coursework needed for this exciting field. In addition, this program includes clinical rotations at local hospitals.
Throughout the program, students will learn how to participate as a member of a surgical team, learn how to maintain a sterile field, and exhibit ethical behavior. In addition, graduates will be able to serve as a second assist surgical technologist, or as a scrub, using both critical thinking skills and a effective communication in order to be a contributing member of the health care community.
The Associate of Applied Science in Surgical Technology program gives students the ability to work in entry-level positions in hospitals, surgical centers, dental offices, and a variety of clinics. The course includes a 500-hour clinical rotation.
