About National American University
NAU headquarters opened in South Dakota in 1941 as the National School of Business. The purpose was to provide business training with a focus on secretarial and accounting work. During the post-war years, the curriculum adapted to reflect new technological fields and spread out over the United States and in select international locations. The inclusion of online educational options occurred in 1996.

The oval also hosts a large aggressive skate park with facilities for bikes, in-line skates and skateboards. Combined, the activities make the John Rose Oval the world’s largest outdoor skating facility.
