About Stevens-Henager College

One of the special features of a Stevens-Henager College education is the ability to choose either a standard or an accelerated pace. An Occupational Associates degree can be earned in less than 20 months, and a Bachelors degree can be earned in less than 36.

Salt Lake City, UT Health Care StudentsThe school was founded in Ogden, Utah in 1891 but now has six campuses. Originally started as Intermountain Business College, Stevens-Henager College underwent several name changes before the final one was established in 1959.

To maximize the student experience and allow for the greatest possibility of post-graduation employment, Stevens-Henager College works with area employers to develop study programs. This helps ensure that the school's graduates find jobs in their fields of interest.

The school also offers job assistance to all graduates. This extends past just sending out job listings, as Stevens-Henager College actually helps students set up, and prepare for, job interviews. Special online programs are available for students who need to work around current job schedules.

Medical Specialties (Associate of Occupational Studies)

The Medical Specialties program offers students the opportunity to learn about a wide variety of medical topics, including medical coding and billing, phlebotomy, medical assisting, pharmacy technology, and more. This Associate of Occupational Studies degree program prepares graduates for job in labs, clinics, hospitals, doctors’ offices, and pharmacies.

Respiratory Therapy (Associate of Occupational Studies)

Stevens-Henager College also offers the AOS degree in Respiratory Therapy. The program spans 22 months, and involves both classroom time and hands-on experience in laboratories and clinics. Graduates have the practice they need to go confidently into the field of Respiratory Therapy. Additionally, they have a background in general anatomy and physiology, patient assessment and electrocardiography, lung expansion therapy, pulmonary rehabilitation, and much more.

Respiratory Therapy (Bachelor of Science)

The Salt Lake City, UT campus of Stevens-Henager also offers a Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory Therapy. In addition to expanding on the concepts of the AOS program, the Bachelor's curriculum includes preparation for the Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) Specialty examinations, and the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).

Health Care Administration (Bachelor of Science)

Health Care Student - Salt Lake City, UTAt the Bachelor's Degree level, the school offers a degree in Health Care Administration. It combines medicine and business to create well-rounded graduates able to find employment in administrative positions in hospitals, offices, and government entities.

Courses include the basics of anatomy and physiology as well as finance, health care policy, management, insurance and HMO, and long-term care administration.

Surgical Technology (Associate of Occupational Studies)

Preparing graduates to seek entry-level employment as a productive member of a surgical team, the AOS in Surgical Technology program combines classwork with a hands-on clinical externship.

In addition to learning about surgical equipment and procedures, students of the Surgical Technology program will learn how to work under the direct supervision of a circulating nurse in the operating room.

Upon graduation, students are eligible for certification from the American College of Surgeons and the Association of Surgical Technologists Certified Surgical Technologist (CST).
