Fortis Institute works to educate students who will become high-quality job candidates upon graduation. Their focus is to fully prepare students to become employees. In order to do this, they rely on hands-on education and up-to-date technology, in combination with trained faculty.
By utilizing on-campus laboratories for teaching, the school works to “dedicate ourselves to the task of educating students in an environment that simulates the professional atmosphere and prepares them for the realities of the workplace.”
Dental Assistant - Diploma
Students of Fortis Institute are able to study in pursuit of a diploma in the Dental Assistant program. This allows them to step into entry-level Dental Assistant jobs upon completion. There is also an opportunity for a diploma as an Expanded Function Dental Assistant. Both positions allow graduates to assist the dentist chairside for surgeries and other treatments.
Medical Assistant - Diploma
With the continually growing need for Medical Assistants, many Fortis Institute students choose to study for a diploma in this discipline. After finishing the program, they are ready to assist doctors with basic procedures, as well as to perform many of the necessary tasks required to run the front office. ECG/Phlebotomy/Lab Assistant - Diploma

Providing graduates with a solid foundation of career-based knowledge, students are prepared to seek employment as a phlebotomist, home health aide, medical assistant, medical transcriptionist, or health unit coordinator.
Medical Transcriptionist/Insurance Billing Specialist - Diploma
Available as a Diploma program, the Medical Transcriptionist/Billing Specialist program at Fortis Institute is designed to prepare graduates fro employment in home health agencies, insurance offices, rehab centers, hospitals, physician's offices, clinics, and nursing homes. One of the fastest-growing careers in the health care industry, this program is designed to give you career based training in this exciting field.
Massage Therapy - Diploma
The hands-on approach is the only way to learn Massage Therapy, and Fortis Institute makes this possible for those who want to begin a career in this growing area of expertise. Students learn anatomy and physiology, as well as the proper medical terminology needed for the work. Graduates are prepared to sit for the National Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork exam and can look forward to jobs both in and out of the healthcare realm.

The Scranton campus of Fortis Institute is located in an historic part of the downtown area. The training facility was recently added, with an additional 14,000 square feet of modern equipment and a new dental laboratory. The school itself is accessible by public transportation and Interstate 81, with an abundance of free parking for students.

Fortis Institute has been granted numerous licenses and accreditations in order to offer the best educational experience possible.
