As a name, Sanford-Brown College has been in existence for over 140 years. Sanford-Brown College and other schools under the Sanford-Brown name are vocational training centers that provide basic training in a number of cutting edge fields.
The school's mission is to “offer focused, quality, short-term, non-degree career-oriented programs.” The school has always been focused on practical training offered in a fast format to enable students to get out the door and into their careers. Medical Assisting (Certificate or Associate's Degree)
The Medical Assistant program provides students with the skills they need to work alongside other medical professionals in a clinic or office capacity. At Sanford-Brown College in Vienna, VA, this program is available in an Associate's Degree or Certificate format. Training includes clinical care as well as administrative tasks. Graduates are not eligible to take the Certified Medical Assistant exams until further experience and/or education occurs. However, students may be eligible to take the Registered Medical Assistant exam.
Medical Billing & Coding (Associate's Degree)
The Medical Billing and Coding program prepares students to work in the insurance and records departments of a variety of health care establishments. The course includes an externship of practical work at an outside facility.
Graduates are eligible to take the Certified Coding Associate and Certified Professional Coder-Apprentice exams; however the official Certified Professional Coder exam and other relevant certifications require more experience and/or education.
