Health Care  Student -  Wasilla (Mat-Su Valley), AKPrograms range from seven months to 30 months depending on the degree, although all of them are focused on providing a results-driven curriculum. All classes at Charter College are started on a regular basis year-round, so students aren't restricted to set quarters or semesters. In the health care field, the Wasilla campus offers training in Medical Insurance Coding and Billing, Massage Therapist, Medical Assistant, and Pharmacy Technician.

Medical Insurance Coding and Billing

The Medical Insurance Coding and Billing program prepares students for the administrative side of working in a medical office. Courses include medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, insurance processing, bills and collections, bookkeeping, and industry-standard coding techniques. The Medical Assistant program offers training for students looking to work as medical receptionists, ECG technicians, and medical assistants. The focus of the courses is on working with both the clinical and the administrative sides of the health care field, particularly as it relates to the current standards in the medical industry.

Available as a Certificate or Associate of Applied Science Degree, the Medical Office Administration program at Charter College is designed to give graduates the skills needed in order to become a vital part of a health care team.
