Going to School in Watertown, MA

Watertown was first inhabited by Native American tribes Pequossette and Nonantum. The first English explorers traveled through in the early seventeenth century. Since then, the town has been home to a number of firsts: for instance, the first time taxation without representation was challenged in the colonies was when Watertown refused to pay a tax to fortify neighboring Cambridge because they had not voted to do so.

On a more leisurely note, Watertown also had the first golf course in the United States. Today, it is a thriving city with a diverse economy. Just six miles from Boston, residents can enjoy the perks of a large metropolitan area while still hanging on to a smaller city charm. Residents, visitors, and students can enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and thriving community.
